I’ve always believed that flavor tells a story. For me, that story started in Dinwiddie County, Virginia, where I grew up surrounded by the rhythm of farm life, the smell of fresh produce, the slow simmer of sauces, and the way food could bring people together.

My father’s farm taught me that the best meals begin with care and connection. Later, in kitchens across the country and at the Culinary Institute of America (CIA), I learned how technique and imagination turn those roots into something transformative.

born out of tradition and innovation

Haus of Sauce was born from that mix of tradition and innovation. During my master’s program at CIA, I was asked to develop a food concept, and I kept coming back to the same thing: the sauce. I’d been making BBQ sauce for friends and family for years, something smoky, bold, and balanced. I started refining it, experimenting late into the night, tasting, adjusting, and taking notes until the flavor felt just right.

That sauce became the OG Smokey BBQ, a blend of sweet, heat, and smoke that feels familiar yet fresh every time you taste it.

celebrating community and creativity

From there, the idea grew. we wanted to build a brand that celebrates community and creativity, something that honors everyone who’s ever gathered around a shared meal. Haus of Sauce is rooted in the belief that great food should bring people together, not divide them. Haus of Sauce carries that philosophy into every bottle we make: inclusivity, hospitality, community and joy. Our tagline says it best, THERE’S ROOM AT THE TABLE.

I don’t want my sauces to make you feel heavy or weighed down, I want them to open up the flavors, wake up your palate, and remind you exactly why food matters.
